Cars & Concepts GTC body kit
#31
email me if you are in. Those are the numbers. I wish they were lower too.

I don't have any idea of a time frame. Money will make the wheels turn. This is in the initial phase, and it may not go any further if there is no interest.

Also figure this is for the fiberglass, not including fasteners, paint, labor, etc. for installation.

by tooling I take it the new ones will be abs plastic and not fiberglass? If so that would be a nice touch because you wouldnt need to worry about breaking the things every time some road crap hits them..

A grand is a little steep for me right now (although its still decent for a body kit)

Once i get my two other w-2's, file my taxes, get my shit straight (next week) i will def. know for sure. Still, more than likely, like i said before, unless something highly unusually costly happens, i'm still in.

There is plenty of time.

sorry that is alot of money for tooling costs.
We custom made molds in our school shop with some styra foam and some bondo to make things smooth. the body we made (for our electric car came out sweet as shit) smooth strong etc. took us about 1 week of 2 hours a day and (3 of us) and you figure the cost of the glass and the body filler and the styra foam. and the labor if you want to count that and we spent a grand total of like 2 Gs max and the mold can still be used.
I think there are sure as shit cheaper ways to do this people.
We know that one person on this board will donate their GTC body kit. It wouldn't take a whole lot to do to make the molds and than glass the molds id they want it finish sanded it will just cost some more.
sorry just my 2 cents.
I am still in but I would want to see the finished product before purchasing.

I am losing my ambition to do this.

I had 2 conversations with this guy. Why does everyone want to nickle and dime over the very first estimates? $700 is good, but $900 is too much? O.K. you set the price! For cryin' out loud people. This topic goes back years and nobody has gotten it done. It is not constructive at this point to pinch pennies on a design concept. The price will be what it will be. I am fair and honest. Mike is a reputable business man. I know a lot of people don't have the money to do this right now, but if the molds get made maybe someday you can afford to buy a kit. If it is too much for you now, fine.

We need 15 or so people to make it happen. I will put you in touch with Mike before you send money, so you can talk to him first.
