Tree Sap Removal

And I mean this stuff looks almost like I just cut a branch off and dripped it straight onto the hood . Keeping in mind this is my grandfathers car I thought the problem would just "will" itself away :crossed:

Long story short , its still there and gooeier then ever .

I tried bug and tar remover and a little bit of everything else in my arsenal , all I got was sticky rags .

Any ideas ?
