Spot free rinse
#21
Quote:If you aren't going to towel dry the car, which I wouldn't do after using a spray and wash type place because you just can't get the dirt off of the car there, and the brush is PURE evil, then you'll end up with water spots by letting the car air dry. Because, when the water evaporates it leaves behind calcium and other contaminates/impurities. You can use a detail spray or some white vinegar to remove the spots.
:yesyes:
I did that with mine, took them all out. That was on the black stripes even.

The strong soap at a high pressure car wash will take off all that new wax you just put on..

Those carwash places are evil for a good paint job... I used those places to clean off the mud from my truck after a day or two of off-roading Big Grin

A good wax will allow easy cleaning of access build up near emblems and whatnot. Get a detail kit. I use Zymol pure wax for my car after the whole cleaning, polish, blah blah...

Sometimes I use a Toro 215mph leaf blower to dry the car. It works very well and blows the water off before it has a chance to spot.

When I was younger I would drive around the block like a maniac to get the water off

I do that also, only I use the highway right next to the car wash instead of city streets.

I just park next to the streets you guys blast down. Your jet stream pulls the water right off of my car and I save gas too! Big Grin
