Actually they fit fine, these are the wheels I had on originally, and the caps fit fine, plenty of clearance.. Thanks.

Today , removed all the mounting hardware for the bumpstrips and took off the LH inside door hardware. Off with the LH side mirror and started some body sanding. My light rust in the LH door is just some surface rust, easy to stop in its tracks. The body is in excellent shape... GOTTA LOVE THAT.

Ordered some supplies today, some different sized block sanders, rolls of grit , black AEM Trim paint and etching primer, and USC All Metal body filler (this is for the Track that needs to be filled for the top of the GTC panel "J" channel.)

I hope you keep updating us with pictures of your progress. I have a $1200-1800 quote from a reputable body guy in my area. But I'd like to do most or all of the work myself to stay true to the "I did it all myself, on a shoestring budget" theme

I will have detailed pictures as I go,, each progress I make will be documented... This is going to be a long thread.... I did check a few years back and I got a quote for $3000 for a complete strip and fix the small dents,, paintiing the jams, etc.. That was without GTC panel install. I have re-done my 1988 S-10 pickup so I know I can do this project . I'm just a home motorhead that likes to learn as I go. My S-10 turned out great.[Image: d57c5b12.jpg]

Continued today on removing the little molding mushrooms on the door by grinding them off, yea, I know the GTC body panel will cover this, but I want to smooth everything under the panel, just for my own knowledge. [Image: b150feeb.jpg]
Stripped the LH mirror down and sanded the chrome with 180 grit and then Etching primered the parts.

The base is going to get the flatblack molding spray and the mirror is going to be body colored black with a clearcoat.[Image: a1c2579f.jpg]
