I have an Eclipse amp and I like it. Their head units are supposed to be pretty good. I use Alpine headunits in everything I have and I love them. Pioneers are great for the money. Pioneer Premiers will have added features and are in the same range as what you'll probably be looking at. Stay away from Sony though. Their car products have had iffy quality in the last few years based on a few friends' experiences. What do you want from the new head unit?

Would a Pioneer head unit and speakers bought at Wall Mark work reliably in my 95 F150? I don't need that much but, the stock radio just doesn't cut it. Usually most stuff through Wall Mart is junk so I have stayed away from whatever model that is. I'm thinking they sold the crappy stuff to Wall Mart. I hate buying things only to have them break a year or two later.

personaly the best head unit i have found, and is currently what i have is a JVC.
Here is a pic of mine, I paid like $400 a few years ago for it, and have had no problems with it so far. I like the fact I can turn up the sub right there on the head unit. I think alot of head units are like this now. Mine changes colors and has differant graphics on it. Which I thought was pretty pimp!

I had an Alpine you could adjust the sub volume on like 10 years ago. That JVC has a cool look though. I olny paid $180 for my current Alpine with sub volume/mp3 capability/etc.

I have a JVC head unit with JVC speakers all they way around and alot people ask if I have subs. No subs, just 61/2's in the doors and 6 x 9's in the back
