Surprisingly, Indy was the snag, not Muskegan, so I'll be @ the Fairfield, 5220 W. Southern.

MOST excellent.

I'm planning on breaking the trip down into 3 nights. Home to Lexington KY, to Atlanta, to Jacksonville and then on to CCbeach.
Feeling like a wuss for doing it this way considering that I used to drive from home to Houston for the weekend. Drive down, crab with friends on the Galveston jetties, party and be back @ work Mon. A.M. 33 or 35 yrs. changes your comfort level I guess. Ah well.........the days when I can get by on 2 hrs sleep may indeed be history, but I'm willing to give it 1 more try.

"I'm as good once as I ever was?"

It used to be that I had zero problems with getting up and driving 15-20 hours straight. But times have changed and I try not to drive all night. All day is stil no problem.

These days I prefer to go no longer that 10 hrs, 12 if necessary.
The current plan is to head out from here very early Thursday June 2 and make it as far as Pensacola...10-12 hrs. Get up early and the 8 hrs to Cocoa Beach will be an easy stroll.

Doesn't matter. The Navigator (while I personally think they're plug ugly - and most people would say the same about my wifes Durango) would be a nice design counterpoint to the VIIs and VIIIs.

There was an article in the Chi. Sun Times yesterday predicting $5./gal. gas by Memorial day :o .
RECALCULATING :
I'm still goin'.
