Power Tour 2011
#21
The committee in Muskegon has some plans for the Power Tour.

http://forums.hotrod.com/70/8494252/powe...ml#8550660

So for you guys sitting on the fence about the last couple of legs, this should help make up your mind.

I have this image in my mind of us taking over an entire row at the drive inn. Cool

John, I'm saying this for you as well as anybody else reading this.....
If there is ANY chance you will make the Tour, one leg or Long Haul, make reservations now.
This is not Chicken Little crap. The smaller towns like Muskegon and Valdosta will fill up FAST. Even the larger cities will fill up. One could easily find themselves 20-40 miles away from the venue. OR sleeping on a cot in one of our rooms.

PT 2009 we had a newcomer from Houston who "flew by the seat of his pants" concerning motels. The Somerset stop found him 45 miles away before he found a motel with open rooms.

Either way, anyone with a credit card can make reservations and if things don't work out cancel.
All of the places on the list in this thread you can cancel day of the reservation.

See Ya.

Sorry to make it more complicated. My goal is to keep this as simple as possible.
But....

When I read about the Cruise on Friday night I did some looking around.
There is a Courtyard that is on the road (A1A/Atlantic Ave) where the Cruise is happening.
It is also only a couple of miles from the bars that are participating. And it's on the beach.

It is also cheaper than the Residence Inn in the "list". Right now the rate is $128 per night w/o any discount, $124 AAA rate. Grab a room with 2 Queen beds and share and it's cheaper. For that matter, according to the Marriott website, all the rooms (including the king) have a sofa bed and rollaways are available. So a room could be very reasonable.

So, in light of the location right in the middle of the Action and the price, the Hot Rod Lincolns on Line Base of Operations has changed.

Courtyard Cocoa Beach Cape Canaveral
3435 N. Atlantic Ave
Cocoa Beach, FL 32931
321-784-4800

As always, this is only a suggestion. But is certainly makes it easier when we're all together.

See you in June

So..... sitting here listening to the wind howl, 10" of blowing snow (so far) - the DOG doesn't even want any part of this storm, and she's tall enough to not have to dip anything vital in the snow..... and after figuring out the tax situation over the weekend, I registered tonight.
Car's stored, but April might not be long enough to let it sit the way things look outside.
No January thaw this year, but at least it hasn't been as bad as NYC.
Gotta book the hotels next.
Tomorrow, I hope. Snow relocation has to come 1st I think.

OH YEAH ! Thunder snow/lightning.

Booked !
Surprisingly, Indy was the snag, not Muskegan, so I'll be @ the Fairfield, 5220 W. Southern.
