engine stand bolts
#1
Well I finally have time to start working on the 83 tbird again. However I have a slight problem. I want to get my 351W bolted up to my engine stand but I lost the bolts to bolt the engine up. Does anyone know the bolt sizes, grade and length you would use to bolt a 351W to an engine stand?

I think I6/SB fords are 7/16" course thread bolts. I would use grade 8 just to be on the safe side. For the length, you will have to measure the depth that the bolt passes through and add at least 3/4" to that.

Make sure you have extra thick washers for the head part of the bolt so it doesnt pull through the plate arms. I usually use 3 plain washers for every bolt.
